Google launches real time search

7 Dec 2009

Earlier this year, Google had announced it was working on Realtime Search, wich can be simplified as a search for what's happening NOW on the topic of your search query.

So this means recent results will do better than search results that have aged a little already, and that's logic you can compare to old news versus new news. So how come this is hot now? Because Google has created a deal with Twitter.

The new "searching" is not a global reality yet but it's being unveiled as we speak. Of course we decided to test it on ourselves here in Perth. Do a little search, click "Show Options" and there you go. The left column allows you to click on recent results.

The Realtime search feature stresses the importance of being online with your company and using social media. It's really getting vital to integrate Twitter and Facebook as a fully respected part of your corporate communication now. It's not the future. It's NOW.
